I was asked about this blog. Apparently a very simple question to answer, even if I've to say I didn't expected it. I don't know why, but there were people able to find the blog out. I've never sponsored these web pages, and I continue to don't mention this digital activity. I talked about my initiative only to few people, and I have to say my blog has never been the topic of our conversation. Furthermore, when at the beginning of the year I changed the name of the website, it disappeared from search engines, so that find it out is impossible. So, having question from people who knows about this blog is simply unexpected. I've kept my blog secret, and the reason is simple: I still have to decide what to do with this blog. It was created in 2009 for professional reason, but immediately after the situation changed and I had other kind of business. Since the blog was created for job reasons, I never thought to use it as private instrument to communicate with friends. But it's also true the contrary: when I realised the web would have never been my professional life, then I started to write as I had to do it for the a part of the people I used to stay with, who were those who suggested me to have a blog.
On April the 5th, 2009, I posted my first message. It was a very short one, just few lines written to explain I'm not so close to technology and that I had no idea how to go on. Here we have what I wrote: "Finally I did: I got off on internet. [...] Now I've just to realize how to manage this space". I had to translate it, cause at the beginning I used Italian. English arrived only at the end of the previous year, but I'll come back to the language issue later.
On April the 9th, 2009, four days after the the blog creation, I wrote about the question of the Western Sahara. I recall that to can answer what I was asked about: I still don't know how to use it, but I was immediately aware it would have been - and it is - my space. During these years I used the blog to have practice with it: organizing, posting the articles, writing (only a little) in html code, updating, exploring, studying was what I did. Of course, I wrote articles. I wrote all those articles I couldn't write elsewhere. I made practice, by myself, on topics and subject no one wanted to let me write about.
English is what I define "the next step". After having used my (spare)time in self-training for writing articles, I decided time was come to make use of the foreign language I know better. Since we live in a global society, thing and communicate in international way is unavoidable. Consequently, Italian represents a too limited field. I'm not saying I want to have an international blog. Of course, if I decided to turn "EmilianoBiaggio" (that was the original name) to "biaggionline", turning from Italian to English, the reason is I'm thinking about. Right now I don't feel ready to leave the anonymity, I'm just going on with self-training. Write in English is something stimulating and tiring at the same time. Once I'll be able to have improved my skills "biaggionline" could become something else. That means it will change name once again. Compared to the previous time, in case of new change the new blog will be promoted in a proper way. I already have some ideas, but I keep them for me.
Finally let me come back to the nature of the blog. It was no my intention to have it as a media or as journalistic website, even if the reason why I opened it was that one. When I started another kind of career, all my interests to create my personal information website were over. Be clear I'm talking about the possibility to reach a huge public and a vast amount of people. Future is unpredictable, and maybe soon "biaggionline" will be another kind of project.
